Graceful Hands

From the characteristic meaning of graceful have two sides, complete with showing a pleasing beauty of form, movement or manner and pleasing in both style and attitude. I think this two meaning are suitable at Section A. The hands of the old woman not only have a graceful hand from outside, and her heart is also graceful.

Graceful appear two times at this essay. First, in the Para gage 6. At that situation, the medical worker providing the normal treatment to the ill, after doing that, she find out the "graceful hands" of the old woman. Because the fingers of the ill were long thin, just like some people who play music and did a lot of housework (in my opinion). So after that, the writer thought about the old woman's family. Maybe from the hands, the writer thought the ill must be an elegant woman when she was young, and then wonder why there's not anyone care about her and watch her at that moment. The writer began to feel a little pity to the patient.

Just at that time, Mrs. Clark as a mind reader that blew away the cloud of the medical worker that tells her the truth, which her family was not beyond her. It is the first time, the ill use some way to communicate with the writer. From that time, they began to intercommunicate nonverbal but through the feeling of two hands and the eyes contract between them. The writer learned a lot from that "talking".

After the ill died, the writer began to have some emotional battle inside. She knew that the reason why the old woman did not allow her family to spend the last moment with her was that she did not want to spare the pain of her passing to her family. Even though she must leave, she also had a good heart that want the remain person can feel more happy. The kind of decision is graceful. No one want to die alone, however, for not to make her family feel painful the old woman choose the quite way to die with a changer who she just met for a short time. God bless her, she chooses a hard way for herself, but thinking about other most of time. Such angle like woman, wasn't she graceful? The writer could not be influential from her. In addition, this was just part of truth about the ill, and the others were shown out after two days.

The writer found the patient was not only thinking about others at the end of her life, but also doing such graceful thing all her life. She was mother of seven, grandmother of eighteen, an active member of her church, a leader of volunteer association in her community, a concert piano player, and a piano teacher for over thirty years. No wonder her hands was so long and thin, because she was a great mother, grandmother, piano player and piano teacher.

How the writer can't be moved by this?!

When I met the title –graceful hand– for the first time, I thought it must be a story talking about why there's graceful hand and how it was. But after reading, I realized it's more than that. I even feel a little pressure and sad after reading. The old woman was really a great angle, the angle with graceful hand that her hand was healing all the sin all her life. She selected to die silence instead of with her family because she didn't want to spare her family the pain of her passing, and she would rather suffer all things by herself and maybe with the stranger. However, there's an antinomy in my stomach, why such a great person should die alone, she should accept all the admire from others. She must be a well known woman, however the end of her life was as common as others, I think she did deserve of this. Yet all things have two sides, we can't benefit them at one time.

After reading this, I think a lot. I compare myself with her, what will be when I am dying? Can I make such graceful decision?

A:Now, I will ask you some questions about the best teacher you ever had.

A: At first, could you tell me what his/her name is?
B: Lin Ye Ming.

A: Which school did he teach in, such as kindergarten, primary school, middle school, high school or university, of course, including some other schools?
B: Middle school.

A: What subject did he teach?
B: Chemistry.

A: How do you think about the meaning of "the best"?
B: I respect him because his hard working, and taught me what was put my feet on the earth.

A: What do you think the most charming point of him?
B: His smile is wonderful and he always showed me a positive philosophy.

A: Did he influence you? Such as character principle or something else.
B: Of course, he influenced me deeply, or you can say, he changed my life. He let me know what's hard working, and how I can do that.

A: As you like him so much, did you work hard at his subject?
B: That's no double of it that I worked hard at chemistry.

A: Did you get a good mark at chemistry?
B: Yes, I did. I wanteda to show my respect to him at this way.

A: How times fly, now you have left your teacher for such a long time, do you still remember him now and then?
B: Yes, when I lose my heart at doing something, when I want to give up after a lot of try, I will remember him, and then I can calm down and continue hard working until I succeed.

A: Did you keep in touch with him?
B: No, I feel very sorry of that, after we were separated, I can't connect with him anymore. It's a knot in my stomach till now.

A: At last, do you want to say something to you teacher right now?
B: Mr. Lin, thank you for teaching me how to work hard and how to be person who dedicate a lot but never think about return. You no only cultivated my interest of chemistry but also taught me how to be a good person all my life. If you can read this, I hope you can accept my sincerely thanksgiving.

A Lette to College President (publish on weekend)

Dear College President,

Our school are becoming better and better, as one of them, I feel very pround, thereby I write this letter to share the happiness with you and let you know some advice from us.

First, the bridge between the main part and here (East Teaching part) makes our life more convenient. Provided we want to go to main part, we just need about 20 minutes now. As a result, we can take advantage of the resource there, complete with library, class in teaching building 1~3, canteens and so on.

Second, the new canteen here improves our every meal. We don't need to worry about the haygiene of the food any more. The new canteen works from 6:00AM to 11:00PM, so we can regain our energy whenever we need, after that, we can exist all our strength to study and attend other meaningful activities.

Everythings has two side including this. Though there are so many benifits exist and at the same time, there are also some disadvantage go with it.

In my opinion, the bridge has improved our tansfer, however, it can be better that the school makes some buses go and come bath between two places. As you known, many school in Guangzhou and other places have buses inside the school. Our school is so large, if there's buses exist, it can help a flood of people. Such as the visitors can be easier go around in SCAU instead of walking a long time, and still couldn't find the places they want to, because not everyone are familiar to our school very well.

All of us hope our school can be better. President, please think about our advice.

Education In China (publish on weekend)

There are lots of differences between China and foreign countries, complete with culture, economy and personal psychology. So Chinese education should learn from foreign good principles and make some that adjust to the nowday situation in China.

It's known to all that Chinese education is using "quality education" principle. But does it really work? In fact, the academic achievement still means "all quality". In short, people just realize the important of IQ, but pay little attention to the EQ's development.

After known the principles about parents and teachers at Hyde School, I think at this point, we should learn from them. We really overlook the communication among parents to parents. In China, we're carrying out the birth control, as a result, maybe most of families just have a child. In my opinion, the parents without many teaching experience, so they must exchange more with others, share their idea of how to guide the children.

Secondly, Chinese education system have to improve its principles of students. Because the students are the only child of their families, consequently, more or less they will be selfish and don't know how to concern others. This will directly affect the development of their EQ. I'm personally thinking that a good method to improve this is group life. Let children live together, and the details fo daily life will change them bit by bit automatically. Of cours, during this process, teachers and parents should give them correct guidance. In a word, group life means to send students to boarding school not to enhance the hours at normal school. With too many "care" from parents, children can't grow up and stand by themselves. Group life can cultivate their teamwork spirit.

I deeply hope the Chinese education system can be improved. The thought fo "The point (academic achievement) is student's life" must be replaced. Beyond IQ, we also need high EQ, if we want to be a manager of the violent competing world.
